It’s garlicky. It’s basily. It’s pine nut-y. It’s pesto, and this weekend, there’s a festival dedicated to is existence happening in Fayetteville.
The 6th annual Pesto Fest celebration is set for 5-10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16 at Tri Cycle Farms.
The event will be held at the farm, located at 1705 N. Garland Ave., and will include the annual pesto making contest, live music by Handmade Moments, The Baskins, Raccoon Rivera, Serrano-Torres of Rozenbridge, and Warren Dietzel, and more.
In addition, local restaurants like Greenhouse Grille, Wood Stone Craft Pizza, Bordinos Restaurant and Wine Bar, Pesto Café, Lucky Luke’s BBQ, Ozark Natural Foods A La Carte, more will provide food for the event, and there will be local beer by Fossil Cove Brewing Co., mint teas by Tri Cycle, and other refreshments.
There will be plenty of kid-friendly activities as well, including an appearance by the Greedy Goats.
Admission is $25 in advance for adults, and $30 the evening of the event. Kids 12 and under get in for free.
Proceeds from the event benefit Tri Cycle Farms’ Community House operations, expanded Food Hub initiatives in their Food Recovery Program, as well as educational programming in aquaponics, hydroponics, animal husbandry and childhood nutrition.
