Drivers on and around Old Wire Road should expect intersection and lane closures this month as crews continue to work on the Old Wire Road Improvement Project.
East Amber Drive and East Elmwood Drive will be closed near the Old Wire intersection through Sunday, July 21. East Cardinal Drive will be closed near the Old Wire intersection through Tuesday, July 23. East Overcrest Street and East Stewart Street will be closed near the Old Wire intersection through Monday, July 29.
Additionally, the west-bound left-turn lane on Township Street at Old Wire Road (turning south) will be closed for paving and manhole modifications from Friday July 19 through early August.
Residents and visitors may use those roads from their eastern-most access points, according to a city news release.
The current phase of the project is from Ash Street to just past Township Street, and includes a protected bike lane, a new sidewalk, street and sidewalk lighting, new traffic signals, a signalized crossing at Stanton Avenue, a new asphalt overlay and stormwater improvements.
