The city’s Parks and Recreation Department will reopen more amenities that were closed last year because of COVID-19.

The department announced today that park restrooms, water fountains, and basketball courts will reopen on Saturday, April 3. Those amenities were among several that were closed in March 2020 because of concerns around community spread of the coronavirus.

Safety protocols and some restrictions for park amenities are still in place and may be reinstated as needed, officials said.

Additionally, park pavilions will open for the public to make reservations starting June 1.

The city is still encouraging everyone visiting parks and trails to continue wearing masks and practicing responsible health measures.
