Natural State Roller Derby
Location: Starlight Skatium
Hours: We meet from 7-9 on Sundays and Tuesdays. Sundays are our new skater night!
What do you offer?
We are a local roller derby league and non-profit organization. We are recruiting new skaters, ages 18+. We teach all skill levels how skate and to play roller derby, even if you haven’t been on skates before. Through training, coaches cover stops, falls, technique, and rules – accessing your skill level and working with you for growth. We loan protective gear (helmets and pads) and skates to get you started, however, you are welcome to bring your own. First practice is free to join in on!
What makes you unique?
In 2019, our two local roller derby teams NWA Roller Derby and Benton County Bombers joined forces and became one as Natural State Roller Derby. In 2020, we announced publicly our new league Natural State Roller Derby, but the pandemic brought our season to a halt. We came back to practice in early 2022 and are working to rebuild our league and community! We have hosted a few public scrimmages and look forward to our first public double header GAME in October. Our league is dedicated to providing a positive atmosphere that improves our member’s individual athleticism, self-discipline, and character through the hard-hitting sport of roller derby. Members partner with charitable organizations and are dedicated to providing community outreach through events, activities, and charitable sponsorship. NSRD is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and proud member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (herein referred to as WFTDA).
Anything else you’d like to tell Fayetteville about your new business?
Sundays are new skater nights for anyone to join us, 7-9 p.m. Keep an eye out on our socials for most up to date information. We have our first scheduled game against Rock Town Roller Derby on Oct 1st, 2pm at the Jones Center gym in Springdale, AR. This will be followed by a Hallowscream themed Monster mash up game of local skaters.
