The Arkansas women’s basketball team cruised to a 77-55 victory to earn an eighth straight win against Missouri on Sunday in Columbia.
Redshirt freshman guard Saylor Poffenbarger led the team with a career-high 24 points, while Erynn Barnum finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
Missouri jumped to an 8-4 early in the game, and while the Tigers ended the first quarter with a four-minute scoring drought, they led Arkansas 9-8 to enter the second quarter.
Layups by Poffenbarger and Barnum put the Hogs ahead and the team held Missouri scoreless for over 11 minutes to end the half with a 31-22 lead going into halftime.
Missouri scored five straight points near the end of the third quarter, but a jumper from Chrissy Carr sent Arkansas to the fourth quarter with a 49-38 lead.
An Arkansas 7-2 run kicked off the final quarter, and the Hogs outscored Missouri 9-5 in the final minutes of the game to put the clamps on another victory over the Tigers.
The Razorbacks held Missouri to 29% shooting. The Tigers’ 55 points were a season low. Arkansas is now 3-1 in SEC play, which is the team’s best start in conference play since the 2005-06 season.
