Arkansas women artists invited to apply to juried artist registry

The Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts is inviting Arkansas artists who identify as women to apply for its online biennial juried artist registry.

Artists are encouraged to submit original current work in all media. The application can be found on the ACNMWA website at acnmwa.org.

The deadline for submitting applications is Aug. 1. Selected artists will have the opportunity to showcase their work on the ACNMWA website from September 2023 to September 2025.

For the 2023-2025 registry, the invited juror is Dr. Matthew Bailey, gallery director and assistant professor in the department of art and design at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith. Dr. Bailey was also one of the inaugural Tyson Scholars at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. In the previous 2021-2023 registry cycle, the juror was Dr. Ann Prentice Wagner.

Established in 1989 by Helen Walton and Ed Dell Wortz, ACNMWA is a nonprofit volunteer organization with a mission to celebrate the accomplishments of Arkansas women artists and promote the work of the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) in Washington, D.C.
