28 Springs restaurant closes in Siloam Springs

(28 Springs)

After operating for 11 years, Siloam Springs restaurant 28 Springs has permanently closed.

The building that housed 28 Springs will now serve as the new location for the research and development team of Simmons Foods Inc., as reported by Talk Business.

Craig Bacon, senior vice president of technical services for Simmons Foods, told Talk Business that the prepared foods segment of Simmons Foods bought the restaurant five years ago and has hosted several industry events in the space.

The restaurant was first led by longtime local chef Miles James after opening in 2012, and later by chef Kurt Plankenhorn, a native of Conway.

In 2021, the restaurant expanded its offerings by introducing Roost, a pop-up restaurant, to the menu.
