Fayetteville police said they are investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday night in Fayetteville which apparently left one person dead.
Officers were dispatched to an apartment at 920 N. Leverett Ave. for a report of a shooting just before midnight on Tuesday, according to a social media post from the department.
While investigating the incident, a victim arrived at a nearby hospital with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim later died, police said.
Police said the incident remains an active investigation and no more information was being released at the time.
