The Razorback football team is away playing Alabama, so if you don’t turn on your TV or look at your phone while the game is happening (it starts at 11 a.m.), they can’t make you sad this weekend. There’s plenty happening in town that might make you happy.
For example, bass playing legend and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sting is in town for a performance at the Walmart AMP on Thursday night. It’s impossible to be sad when those drums drop in Roxanne.

TheatreSquared has a new show opening this week. It’s called The Band’s Visit, and has been called “a remarkable and boundlessly compassionate and humanistic piece of theater.” More info is here.
Also in performances, there’s a new show called Johnny Cash: The Official Concert Experience making its debut in Fayetteville this weekend. The show features music, video, and performances by the Man in Black himself, and there are a couple chances to see it at Walton Arts Center on Saturday and Sunday. Here’s more.
In rock, your best bet might be the Mudlung, TV Preacher, and Dog Bite show at Smoke & Barrel Tavern on Friday night.
Kansas City-based producer NMEZEE is in town for a performance at West & Watson on Saturday night, along with Zealot and VVaves.
George’s has a few big shows this weekend. You can check out Langhorne Slim and John Craigie on Friday, and South Carolina-based folk duo Shovels & Rope are in town for a Sunday night show.
