
Halloween falls on a Tuesday this year, and since it’s way more fun to party on the weekend than on a school night, most of the celebrations for this year will happen over the next few days.
There are dozens of costume contests, pub crawls, Halloween-themed pop-up bars, and more fun on our list of Halloween events for grown ups we put together earlier this week.
There are also plenty of Trick or Treat opportunities, pumpkin pageants, and costume parades on our list of Halloween events for children and families.
In addition to all the Halloween-related fun, there’s also quite a bit of non-spooky music, performances and more on the list below.
For Halloween-related events, Pinpoint’s annual Nightmare on Block Street Halloween-themed bar will be in full-effect this weekend, and through Oct. 31.
Maxine’s Tap Room is taking on the patriarchy, and is fully decked out in a Barbie theme this year. Their annual Halloween-themed dance parties will run through the weekend.
Also in Halloween parties, JJ’s Live will host theirs with a 90s versus 2000s theme with local band Dial Up and The Burnt CD’s set to perform on Saturday night.
Even Symphony of Northwest Arkansas is getting into the Halloween spirit, with their new performance called Haunted Harmonies: A Halloween Concert on Saturday night at Walton Arts Center.
In non-Halloween related events, George’s has a two-night run with progressive rockers Papadosio on Friday and Saturday night. As of Thursday afternoon, it looks like there are tickets still available to those shows.
Smoke & Barrel Tavern will host an On the Map show with A Giant Dog and Trouble In The Streets. Here’s a bit more.

In sports, Eric Musselman’s 14th ranked Razorback basketball team is taking on No. 3 ranked Purdue in a charity exhibition game at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Bud Walton Arena. This one is likely to sell out.
Up north, there are a couple big shows at the Momentary with Wilco on Friday night, and Wu-Tang Clan on Saturday. Here’s ticket info.
