Hungry travelers can now order up a taste of Fayetteville when making their way through the Northwest Arkansas National Airport.

Fayetteville-based restaurant chain Slim Chickens on Monday opened a new restaurant inside the airport.

The new shop is located in the concourse across from the security area, and is open daily from 10 a.m. until around 9 p.m., according to the company’s website.

Slim Chickens was founded in Fayetteville in 2003. The original location is still in business on North College Avenue. It serves chicken tenders, fresh salads, sandwiches, chicken and waffles, chicken wings, and a variety of sides and sauces.

The company has grown by 70% in the last three years, opening one new restaurant a week for a total of 250 locations across the world.

In its 20th anniversary year, Slim Chickens opened 53 new stores in 2023. It has plans for 70 more locations in 2024 with over 1,200 in the pipeline, according to a recent press release.

New locations are currently in the works in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, West Virginia, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, Turkey, and the GCC.
