The filmmaker behind the surprise hit film “Greater” will begin work on a new project this month in the region.

Filming for “In Fortune’s Shadow” will begin next week, according to a local casting ad circulating online.

According to the ad, the film is the first in a planned series called “The Underneath.”

An IMDB page established for the film indicates the project is by writer/director David L. Hunt, whose credits also include “Living Dark: The Story of Ted the Caver,” and “High Noon.”

Hunt is probably best known for his work on “Greater,” the 2016 film based on the life on former Arkansas Razorback football player Brandon Burlsworth, a former walk-on for the team who went on to become an All-American before his tragic death just days after being drafted to play in the NFL. “Greater” was also filmed in and around Fayetteville.

Hunt’s new project is an action film being described as “John Wick meets The Matrix” or “It’s a Wonderful Life with Guns.”

From the synopsis for the film:

Hitman Nate is given just three days to find the mythical Keyser Soze figure known as The Man with the Answers or face the ultimate consequence. Along the way, Nate finds the task isn’t what he was told and The Man isn’t what he seems.

We haven’t been able to find additional information on the cast and creative team for the film.

According to the ad, production in Northwest Arkansas will take place Feb. 13 through March 16.
