There’s really no time to be messing around with writing a funny intro for the Weekend Flyer this week. There’s too much to get to. Let’s just get started, shall we?
How about some music. JJ’s Live has a big show on Friday night with Randy Rogers Band performing with John Holler. If tickets remain for this one, here’s where to get them.
Also in tunes, local favorites the Dawn Cate Band will kick things off for Happy Hour at George’s. Later on Friday night, there’s an indie pop show with The Wldlfe and Abby Holliday. They’ll host a comedy show on Saturday night with Monty Franklin, and on Sunday, there’s a benefit show for Arkansas School for the Deaf featuring local rockers Welles, Avery Lee & The Sweeties and Gardensnakes. Tickets to George’s shows are available here.
The annual Black Owned Northwest Arkansas Businesses Expo we wrote about earlier this week is on Saturday at Fayetteville Town Center. It starts at 11 a.m. and runs until around 4 p.m.
How about a show? Walton Arts Center has performances of Broadway show Company playing through the weekend, and TheatreSquared will continue the run of their latest, What the Constitution Means to Me this weekend as well.
It’s a pretty great weekend for sports in Fayetteville. The Arkansas gymnastics team will face Kentucky in a meet on Friday night at Barnhill Arena. the SEC Indoor Track and Field Championship is happening Friday and Saturday at Randall Tyson Indoor Track Center, the men’s basketball team takes on Missouri at 11 a.m. on Saturday, the women’s basketball team takes on Vanderbilt at 2 p.m. on Sunday. There’s also Razorback softball all weekend at Boggle Park, and the baseball team is away in a tournament in Arlington, Texas, but if you’re willing to pony up for FloSports, you can watch those games as well.
Up north, there’s a big show at the Momentary on Saturday night with Little Joe & La Familia.
There’s a ton more below. Click around for more details on anything that sounds interesting.
Have a great weekend, everyone.
