A fun fundraising event that allows locals to put their mini golf skills to the test is coming to Fayetteville Public Library this weekend.

The Fayetteville Public Library Foundation will host their second annual Reading the Greens mini golf fundraiser, presented by Century Bank of the Ozarks, at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at Fayetteville Public Library.

The event will include teams of 4 enjoying some friendly competition and fun while they play an 18-hole mini golf course with three special challenge holes throughout the library for a chance to win prizes. Team themes and group costumes make the night even more fun.

In addition to the mini golf, the event will include food from Ozark Catering Company, entertainment by DJ Shortfuze, and a ‘Party on the 19th Hole on the Gathering Glade before, during, and after gameplay.

The event will be emcee’d by Bo Mattingly of HOGS+, and will also include a special appearance by Razorback great Corey Beck.

Beck was a major part of the mid 1990s Razorback teams that won the NCAA National Championship in 1994, and returned to reach the championship game again in 1995. 2024 marks the 30 year anniversary of the 1994 National Championship. Beck is also the owner of Corey Beck Painting, a commercial and residential painting company serving all of NWA.

Last year, the event raised $51,000 for the FPL Foundation, and this year we’re hoping to raise more than $80,000.

Committee co-chairs for the event are George Shelton and Matthew Wolfe.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and awards are at around 8:45 p.m. Entry for a 4-person team is $300, and spectator tickets are also available for $45.
