What we ought to do is stop messing around with weekdays so much this week and move on to a weekend, don’t you think. Let’s just get on with it.
If Thursday counts, and why shouldn’t it, the weekend has already started, and there’s a fun show at George’s with a solo show by Jake Ewald of Slaughter Beach, Dog. It’s one of several On the Map shows coming up. Check out the lineup here.
Folk School of Fayetteville also has a Thursday show this week with folk/blues songwriter, Jake Xerxes Fussell. Here’s ticket info.
It’s the biggest weekend of the year for a cappella fans. Walton Arts Center’s annual VoiceJam festival is this weekend, and the venue will host acclaimed vocal group Take 6 on Friday night, followed by the competition on Saturday featuring 7 groups competing for the VoiceJam championship on Saturday. Here’s ticket info.
How about a little bit of Razorback football? The Hogs will play their annual spring game at noon on Saturday at Razorback Stadium. There’s some pregame fun as well, with local 90s country tribute Gone Country set to perform from 9 a.m. until noon in lot 44 along with other festivities.
Earl & Them will kick things off for happy hour at George’s Friday night, and there’s a rock show late night with TV Preacher, The Big Sad, and Chainsaw Lassy. There’s an EDM show at Geoge’s on Saturday with BUKU and Zeke Beats.
Also in tunes, locals Smokey and the Mirror will play Mount Sequoyah Center’s Music on the Mountain Series on Sunday night along with Jessi Morrison.
In performances, you could check out Laughs in Spanish, the latest from TheatreSquared. Here’s ticket info.
Fayettville Public Library Foundation will host a big fundraiser on Saturday. The library’s annual Reading the Greens mini-golf event benefitting Fayetteville Public Library begins at 7 p.m. and includes food from Ozark Catering Company, entertainment by DJ Shortfuze, and a ‘Party on the 19th Hole on the Gathering Glade before, during, and after gameplay. Here’s more.
There’s plenty more below. Have a great weekend, everyone.
