Dust off your picnic blanket, knock those spider webs off your trusty wagon, and shine up your dancing shoes, everyone. It’s almost time for the Gulley Park Concert Series.

City officials this week announced the lineup for the series of free concerts at the pavilion at Gulley Park, which are set to kick off on June 13 with Opal Agafia.

After that, the weekly music series will continue on June 20 with singer Andrew Igbokidi (who appeared as a contestant on NBC’s The Voice).

June 27 is kids night featuring local 2000s party band, The Burnt CD’s.

The series takes a break for July 4 before returning with local funkmasters, The 1oz Jig.

On July 18, another contestant from The Voice will perform with country/Christian/pop artist Marybeth Byrd, who appeared on the show in 2019.

The series will conclude on July 25 with local progressive bluegrass band, Arkansauce.

For those unfamiliar, the concert series is organized by the city’s Parks & Recreation Department, and features free outdoor live music with plenty of room for picnic blankets and lawn chairs throughout the fields surrounding the gazebo stage at Gulley Park in east Fayetteville.

The music starts at 7 p.m., and the concerts are free and open to the public. Coolers are welcome for those who’d like to pack snacks or dinner, but food vendors are also usually set up around the park.
