The city will soon begin work on six new pickleball courts at Wilson Park, and will also begin renovations to the park’s tennis courts.

Work is set to begin on Monday, May 6.

The new pickleball courts will be lighted, and will replace the existing junior courts and adjoining tennis court. Lights will also be added to the Wilson Park basketball court as part of the project.

The park’s other four tennis courts will be renovated, with new surfacing and practice walls to be installed as part of the project.

The tennis court renovations will take about six weeks, and will be closed to the public during renovations. The pickelball courts are scheduled to be finished sometime before the fall.

In addition to the new courts at Wilson Park, four pickleball courts are planned at the new Underwood Park, and six pickleball courts will be added at Walker Park.
