Spring is here, and in Fayetteville, that means it’s time for a monthly outdoor festival on the Fayetteville square every first Thursday of the month.

The monthly First Thursday event returns this week for the first time in 2024 on Thursday, May 2.

This month’s event includes live music by local songwriter Shannon Wurst, folk duo Mark to August, and funk band 1 oz Jig.

In addition to the music, there will be a group bike ride, food trucks, more than 40 local artists selling their wares, local brews, a puppet parade, a visit from Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s mobile aquarium, and other festivities. The theme for this month’s event is ‘Elemental,’ inviting attendees to “explore the elements of fire, earth, water, and air.”

Local brewery Natural State Beer Company is the featured Ale Trail brewery for the month, and they’ll be serving up beers at Town Center Plaza.

The event will take place from 5:30 p.m.- 9 p.m.
