It’s 4th of July Weekend, and that means about half of y’all aren’t even reading this because you’re on a boat or a jet ski somewhere. At least a couple of y’all are probably flying around on one of those parachute planes. I mean, statistically speaking. We’ve run the numbers.
For those of us not on a boat this weekend, there’s still plenty for us to do right here in Fayetteville.
George’s will kick off their weekend with a happy hour performance by Simply Segar on Friday, followed by Down South Ultimate Country Dance Party for late night Friday. On Saturday, rockers 90lb Wrench will perform.
There’s a big event happening all weekend at Mount Sequoyah Center. It’s called Fayetteville Movement Festival, and it will feature dance classes, yoga classes, hiking, poetry reading, bird watching, roller skating, and more. According to the organizers, everyone is welcome, and no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
There’s a free show at ONF on Saturday featuring Dead Horse Mountain Band featuring Regina Caeli. Music starts at around 6:30 p.m.
Also in free local tunes, local blues band Brick Fields will play Fayetteville Public Library’s Mountain Street Stage concert at 2 p.m. in the Walker Room on Sunday.
Candlelight Concerts is in town for two shows at TheatreSquared this weekend. They’ll play a Coldplay tribute on Friday, and a Taylor Swift tribute on Saturday. Here’s more about that.
There’s a fun event at the Spring Shop Studio (704 S. Washington) on Sunday organized by Hopout DIY. It’s called the Summer Popout, and will feature music by Odeon Collective, Charlie Jones, Peyton Rosell, and Yaint, along with local artists and crafters, food from Bottle Rocket Subs, and more. Up north, the Doobie Brothers are playing the Walmart AMP on Saturday with Robert Cray Band, and Portugal. The Man is playing The Momentary.
