Artist creates beautiful poster for Block Street Block Party

The event poster is out for this year’s Block Street Block Party event, and it’s absolutely beautiful.

The design, created by local artist Brandon Bullette features an illustration of the colorful annual event, set for Sunday, May 18 on Block Avenue in Fayetteville.

Block Street Businesses president Jessy Lang of Good Things Boutique commissioned Bullette for the design. Lang said the artist caught her eye with the colorful menu board designs he created at Greenhouse Grille, where he also works as a chef.

“If you’ve ever seen their chalkboard you know,” Lang said. “He does these really intricate designs with forrest creatures on the sides, and their specials in the middle. It’s really cool, and I just thought his style fit perfectly for the Block Party poster.”

Lang said the poster started as a pen-and-ink line drawing, before ultimately being filled in with the soft, almost-pastel color palette. She was thrilled with how it turned out.

“I think it captures the spirit of the event, with funky people, music, and fun,” she said. “It’s really a collectable work of art.”

The posters will be for sale at the official Block Street Businesses booth during this yer’s event, Long said, though she wasn’t sure of the price yet.
