There’s a big comedy event happening in town. It’s called Huge Lightning Comedy Festival, and there are comedians, improv troupes, and other hilarious performances scheduled throughout the weekend at Matt Miller Studios. Here’s more info on that.
Also this weekend, local artists Joseph Fletcher and Willi Carlisle will kick off their brand new touring show, the one-man variety show There Ain’t No More: Death of a Songwriter with a performance at the Walker Stone House Friday night. It starts at 8 p.m., and admission is a $10 donation to help cover expenses on their upcoming Fringe Festival Tour. Here’s more.
There’s a very cool show at the Walton Arts Center this weekend. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is playing all weekend. Read our review here.
There’s a big hip hop show at UARK Bowl on Saturday with Chicago rapper Twista set to perform with local rapper Mic Adams. Tickets are $25, available here.

Saturday is Earth Day. We haven’t heard of any local Earth Day events this year, but feel free to add anything you know about in the comments below.
Local Color Studio Gallery is turning two years old, and they’re celebrating with a group art show featuring artists Dell Eddins, Aaron Kimberlin, and Diane Stinebaugh. There will be drinks, snacks, and some live music at the event, and it’s free to attend.
Local favorites Arkansauce are back in action for a show at George’s Saturday night. They’ll be celebrating the release of their new album, If I Were You, along with touring act, Clusterpluck.
The AMP will kick off their summer season Saturday night with Blink 182, The Naked & Famous, and Wavves. There are a few tickets left, last we heard.
It’s going to be a funny night on the Fayetteville Square Saturday. In addition to the Huge Lighting Comedy Festival happening at Matt Miller Studios, there’s also an all-female comedy show over at Stage 18 featuring some hilarious local ladies including Laura Weiderhaft, Rachel Runder, Stef Bright, Caroline Ezell, Kaia Hodo.
