It may not feel like it temperature-wise just yet, but fall is here. There are several ways to verify this, but the easiest option is to look at the length of the event list at the bottom of the Weekend Flyer. Fall is easily one of the busiest times of year in and around Fayetteville. See it down there. It’s definitely fall.
The fun begins on Thursday night this week. Former Fayetteville resident Shawn James is back in town for a show at George’s Majestic Lounge on Thursday night. He’ll perform alongside Nashville singer-songwriter, Evan Bartals.
Friday night kicks off with a happy hour performance by legendary local band, The Cate Brothers at George’s Majestic Lounge. George’s will host Finnish bluegrass band Steve ‘n’ Seagulls on Friday night and they have a Tina Turner Tribute on Saturday night.
There’s a big AMP show on Friday night as well with country rocker Koe Wetzel, along with Wade Bowen and Tanner Uusrey.
Also on Friday night, Pinpoint will officially debut their Nightmare on Block Street Halloween-themed bar. It’ll be up through Halloween, but Friday will be the first chance to experience the themed drinks and all-out decor. Here’s more.
Smoke & Barrel Tavern has a couple big shows this weekend. On Friday night, they’ll host local country act Dylan Earl along with South Carolina-based band Christopher Seymour & the Western Cosplay and Seattle singer-songwriter, Dean Johnson. On Saturday, it’s a rock show with Morbid Vision and locals Chrono Wizard and Claw Marks American.
In kid-related events, there are several chances to check out Paw Patrol Live at Walton Arts Center this weekend. There’s also something called Narnia Faire happening at Gulley Park on Saturday and Sunday that could be worth checking out, and Botanical Garden of the Ozarks will host a movie night with a screening of A Bugs Life on Friday night.
The Razorback football team is taking on Texas A&M at Jerry World in Dallas. It’s an 11 a.m. kickoff on Saturday.
Another option this weekend is the new Falltoberfest Event taking over Dickson Street from noon until 6 p.m. on Sunday. The event will include local brews, music, artists, crafters, food trucks, a dog pageant, a Mr. Oktoberfest pageant, and more. Performers include The Phlegms, Flow Tribe, Funk Factory, the Juice, and more. Check out a full list of all the music, breweries, and other highlights here.
Also on Sunday, the annual Kessler Mountain Jam is taking place out at Kessler Regional Park. The event is a USA Cycling-sanctioned mountain bike race starting at 8 a.m. Here’s more info.
Another cool sounding event on Sunday for after Falltoberfest is a popup event happening at Arsaga’s Mill District. The event will include live music by Jess Harp, local artist Nick Shoulders spinning vinyl, and food by Buxton’s Heady Smoke. Here’s a bit more.
There’s a long list below. Go for it, we say.
