We know some of y’all are a little tired from camping out outside Bud Walton Arena on Tuesday, and then storming the court on a school night on Wednesday, but that’s why they invented power naps. And coffee. Right?
It’s the weekend. Let’s do some weekending.
How about kicking off the weekend with some tunes? Cincinnati rock band Heartless Bastards are in town for a show at George’s on Thursday night. Local classic rockers The Hard Tops will play Friday happy hour, followed by a two-day dance party featuring electronic act, The Floozies on Friday and Saturday night.
Walton Arts Center has a few big shows this weekend. They’ll host Oklahoma-based songwriter John Fullbright on Thursday night in Starr Theatre. On Friday, country artist Lorrie Morgan will perform a set of holiday songs, and there’s a jazz show on Saturday with Tierney Sutton. Also this weekend, the WAC’s holiday hang out area, Winter Nights, will open in the rose garden. Here’s a bit more about that.
JJ’s Live also has a couple big shows this weekend. They’ll kick things off on Thursday with country act Treaty Oak Revival, and there’s another big country show with Drake White and William Clark Green on Saturday night. JJ’s Live also opened a holiday-themed bar called Lit Up at Live recently.
If you like local arts and craft markets, all of your dreams are coming true this weekend. We rounded up about a dozen recently, and most of those are happening over the next few days, including Little Craft Show, Wampus Wonderland, Community Creative Center’s annual holiday market, and more. Here’s the list with more details.
How about a show? TheatreSquared’s new, original adaptation of A Christmas Carol is playing at their theatre now through Christmas Eve. There are several chances to see it coming up. See the schedule.
Up north, there are some fun comedy shows at The Grove with SNL alum Kevin Nealon performing multiple sets this weekend.
There’s more below. Have a good weekend, everyone.
