What do you get when you combine UA commencement, the last home SEC baseball series of the year, Mother’s Day, and Artosphere on top of the regular weekend lineup of music, performances, and other events in Fayetteville? We’re not sure, but it sure looks like one of the busiest weekends of the year to us.
As we mentioned, it’s graduation weekend at the UA, and commencement ceremonies will be happening on Friday and Saturday on campus. It is safe to say Hugo’s is probably going to be on a bit of a wait.
The Razorback baseball team are back in town and will be looking to get back on track as they take on the No. 14 ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs in a Friday-Sunday series at Baum Walker Stadium.
In music, George’s will kick off their weekend with classic rockers The Nace Brothers, followed by a local show with Ozark Riviera, Selfless Lovers, and Squash Garden on Friday night. On Saturday night, Randall Shreve & the Devilles are back together for a show.
There’s a big show at Mount Sequoyah on Saturday night. They’ll host local country acts Dylan Earl and Hutson Rogers as part of their Music on the Mountain Series. Show starts at around 6 p.m.
If you are reading this on Thursday, you could check out indie band Local Natives on Thursday night at JJ’s Live. Uwalde will open the show. Here’s ticket info.
If free music is your jam, you could head down to the Trail Mix (more info) concerts outside the Fayetteville Public Library and in the Lower Ramble on Friday night. It’s part of their Artosphere festival, and no tickets are needed. There’s another free Artosphere show at the library at 2 p.m. on Sunday with Aaron Smith and Still on the Hill.
Also in Artosphere-related activity, you could check out Indie Films Artosphere, a miniature film festival curated by the folks at Fayetteville Film Fest at Walton Arts Center on Saturday night. Here’s more info, including the film lineup.
Up north, there are a few shows at the AMP this weekend as well, with country act Brooks & Dunn set to play at the Walmart AMP on Friday Night. Whiskey Myers, Lukas Nelson, and Reid Haughton will play the Saturday night show.
In performances, it’s the last weekend to check out Fat Ham at TheatreSquared. More info about that is here.
There’s a ton more below. Click around down there for more info about anything that sounds interesting. Have a great weekend, everyone.
